In this final episode of Season 1, "Polishing My Turd", you'll meet Dale's pal, Barb! Barb hired Dale back in 2016 at the real estate office she was managing at the time. They quickly connected after Dale began driving her home due to a fatal car accident Barb doesn't like talking about. She hasn't driven in almost 40 years. The friendship has grown into feeling more like family. They enjoy sitting on the back patio with a vodka soda in one hand and a joint in the other. They enjoy talking shit (and boy does Barb have some shit to talk about!) She was raised as a military brat, lost her gay brother to suicide due to the struggle with his sexuality, lost her father to Alzheimer's, her mother to suicide, and her soulmate to cancer. The most impressive thing about Barb is her resilience and ability to move forward no matter the situation. She has taught Dale a lot and has helped them find inner strength to conquer life's turds! They even showed up to her house barefoot after spending 22 hours in jail. She helped them get back on their feet and focus forward. This episode is a prime example as to why we need to treat people with kindness - ALWAYS! We do not know what the person next to us is going through. All it takes is love, respect, and the willingness to allow someone to share. You never know the impact you may have on their life and the lessons you might learn from their story.
True friends are hard to find, and we cannot choose the family we are born into. Dale and Barb are more than friends, they chose to be one another's family.
This is the final episode of this season. Season 2 of "My Fucked Up Fairytale: a Trauma Queen Confessional" will premiere after the new year. We hope you enjoy and see you in 2023!
